British GT & GB3 Championships

Snetterton (300)

Saturday 07 - Sunday 08 August 2021

Norfolk's Snetterton circuit celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, and the milestone will be marked by a special 'old meets new' race programme at the Intelligent Money British GT Championship round on 7/8 August.

The meeting on the full 300 circuit, which itself celebrates its 10th birthday this year, will host a superb programme across two days which celebrates the venue's past and present. British GT will formally headline the event with a pair of one-hour races featuring machinery from many of the globe's most exotic marques.

The sumptuous supercars will be accompanied by the GB3 Championship’s promising cast of future F1 hopefuls in three races across the weekend.

The celebrations will also note the contribution of one of Snetterton's most famous figures to the venue's history. Jim Russell, who passed away early in 2019, founded the world's first racing school at the venue and will be celebrated with on-track action from the 500 Owners Association Championship, which will be running alongside modern GB3 machinery for the first time.

Amongst the cars starring in British GT, there will be modern GT3 and GT4 cars from Aston Martin, a manufacturer whose relationship with the former airbase near Thetford dates back to the very first race event in October 1951. The inaugural meeting was operated by the Aston Martin Owners' Club (AMOC) around a fast, 2.71-mile layout around RAF Snetterton Heath's runways and access roads. That heritage will be celebrated at this meeting with parade laps on Sunday featuring special Aston Martin cars from the past and present.

East Anglia's local automotive industry will be part of the celebrations too, including in the MSVR Elise Trophy for lightweight Lotus track cars. The iconic Colin Chapman-founded sports car manufacturer is headquartered in Hethel, just 15 miles away from Snetterton by road.

The line-up will be completed by the Ginetta GT5 Challenge and Ginetta Academy, both regular series on the British GT package. Ginetta is another manufacturer with its roots firmly in the east of England, originally conceived by the Walklett brothers in Woodbridge, Suffolk.

All tickets will be sent in a presentation wallet and make perfect presents. Alternatively, you can select instant e-tickets.

COVID-19 GUARANTEE: You can book tickets safe in the knowledge that if government restrictions prevent us being able to admit spectators, you will be entitled to a credit or full refund.

The Jim Russell Stand (formerly Murrays) Sunday

From the Jim Russell Stand you’ll see the race start and finish on the Senna Straight, whilst being positioned at one of the tightest corners on the circuit and therefore one of the best spots for overtaking. The last corner is also the best place to see do-or-die manoeuvres as the field streams past on the final lap!

You can select your seat(s) when you order online, or alternatively you can call our call centre on 0843 453 9000

The Oliver Sear Stand (formerly Bombhole) Sunday

The Oliver Sear Stand provides a great view of one of the circuit’s most popular overtaking spots. Watch the racers head out of the Bentley Straight, with outbraking manoeuvres into Brundle and Nelson corners. See it all from the great vantage point of this stand!

Tyrrells Sunday

The Tyrrells stand is located to provide the best view of the 300 circuit’s infield section. Watch the field accelerate out of Palmer, passing the stand as they race towards Agostini. They then head back through the high-speed Hamilton kink, then Oggies, before powering through Williams and onto the Bentley straight.

Camping Information

FREE WEEKEND CAMPING

Why not make a weekend of it and stay on-site at Snetterton? We have a dedicated camping area - just a short stroll from the racetrack.

Ticket holders are welcome to camp free of charge from 4.30pm before the first day of the event until 7.30pm on the final day of the event, but limited facilities are available.

Click on the tabs below for detailed information

  • ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

The campsite opens at 4.30pm on the day before the event and close at 7.30pm on the final day of the event. Please note - limited facilities will be provided during this time.

You are welcome to bring your car or bike onto the campsite with you. Please head to the main entrance on arrival, and you will be directed to the campsite.

There is no shop located on the campsite, but there are supermarkets nearby, in Attleborough and our circuit restaurant will be serving hot food, snacks and drinks.

BBQs are permitted as long as they are raised off the ground, but open fires are not permitted. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol too.

Animals are not permitted anywhere on site at Snetterton (except Guide/Assistance dogs), including the campsite.

  • FACILITIES

The campsite will offer toilets and drinking water standpipes.

The toilets are cleaned throughout the weekend. Please help us by keeping them clean and tidy.

Please do not use the surrounding woods or bushes. If you are found doing so, you may be ejected from the campsite.

There are hot showers located in the main race paddock. Please be aware that the queues may be long at peak times.

There are plenty of bins provided, which are emptied during the weekend.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner is available in our permanent Tyrrells Restaurant inside the circuit.

Please note - there are no electrical hook-ups available.

  • LOCATION

Head to the main entrance, off the A11 and Harling Road when you arrive. The campsite is located on the infield behind the Agostini viewing bank – turn right immediately once over our bridge.

  • SECURITY

We highly recommend keeping your valuables safe at all times, either by locking them in your car, or keeping them on your person.

MSV will accept no responsibility for loss or damage sustained to these items.

    MEDICAL - Call 07968 126 865

    FIRE/SECURITY EMERGENCY - Call 07920 018 803

  • RULES

Please keep noise to a minimum after 23:30. This includes the use of generators wherever possible, particularly if they are portable external units. Any campers that persist in making excessive noise after this time may be evicted from the campsite without refund of ticket fees, or even banned from the venue permanently in extreme cases.

Road-registered vehicles are permitted within the campsites, but scooters and mini-motos are not permitted. Please be considerate of others and keep vehicle movement to a minimum. Sleeping in vans is not advised.

Campers under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an appropriate adult.

Strictly no animals are allowed on site at any time, however Guide/Assistance dogs are permitted when pre-arranged with the venue.

Open fires are not permitted on the campsite (no wood burning). Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground. Please dispose of coals and single use barbecues (once cool) in the metal bins provided.

Never leave a hot stove or barbeque unattended. Keep roadways and fire lanes clear at all times. Store fuel and generators away from ignition sources. Fire extinguishers are located at various fire points around the campsite. Use only in an emergency and raise the alarm immediately.

The campsite speed limit is 10mph. Only drive if strictly necessary and watch for children.

Secure tents and gazebos carefully - always prepare for high winds!

Never use a portable barbeque or gas burner inside a tent, awning or enclosed space (for cooking, or heating when cold). A cooling barbeque can also give off poisonous gas.
Never run a generator inside a tent, awning or confined space. Consider purchasing a Carbon Monoxide alarm and use it inside your caravan or motor home if running an installed gas appliance.

Always check your gas cylinder for damage before using. Maintain good ventilation when using portable gas (remember to use it outside only).

Never smoke near any gas cylinder and keep all ignition sources away.

  • PROHIBITED ITEMS

For everyone's safety and enjoyment, the following are prohibited from our campsite:

    • Fireworks
    • Firewood
    • Chinese lanterns
    • Scooters/mini-motos/any vehicle not registered for the road
    • Drones
    • Offensive weapons
    • Restricted and illegal substances

Any such items will be confiscated by the campsite security team.
